AI Automation Engineer

Summary

We’re looking for an AI Automation Engineer who can take manual, research-heavy internal processes and turn them into automated, self?serve AI capabilities using our internal AI tooling (Claude, ChatGPT, MCP servers, Cursor, Slack AI). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys figuring out how systems work, reverse?engineering human workflows, and building lightweight tools that help the team operate 2–3× faster. You’ll spend the first two weeks learning our problem areas, then begin building your first automation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manual workflows by shadowing SMEs and breaking down problem-solving steps.
• Translate problem statements into clear, automatable AI workflows.
• Build internal automations and agents using Claude, MCP tools, Slack AI, and lightweight scripts.
• Create self?serve capabilities that reduce repetitive querying, research, and triage work.
• Design and maintain small internal tools, prompts, workflows, and reusable components.
• Validate outputs, troubleshoot edge cases, and iterate on early prototypes.
• Document processes, decision logic, and workflows in simple, usable formats.

Qualifications

• Ability to “figure things out” — strong systems intuition and comfort with ambiguity.
• Hands-on experience building with AI tools (Claude, agent workflows, bots, automations).
• Light coding skills (Python or Typescript) and ability to integrate with internal APIs.
• Comfort with SQL and investigating data issues or discrepancies.
• Strong problem?solving, debugging, and workflow deconstruction skills.
• Clear communicator who can turn messy logic into simple explanations or tools.
• Experience with internal tooling, scripting, or process automation is a plus.
