Job Description
The Corporate Controller will lead the global accounting organization and oversee FP&A, financial reporting, operational accounting, internal controls, and tax compliance. This role requires strong expertise in manufacturing and inventory accounting, U.S. GAAP, SOX 404, and semiconductor supply chain operations within a fab-less manufacturing environment.
The Controller will build scalable accounting processes and financial infrastructure to support the company s growth while partnering closely with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to ensure financial discipline and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the Company s annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial planning to support strategic decision-making, including budget-to-actual variance analysis and key performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance, investment opportunities, and operational initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership and department heads to translate strategic priorities into financial plans and resource allocation.
Financial Reporting & Close
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee the general ledger, consolidations, and intercompany accounting across global entities.
- Design and implement the Company s SOX 404 internal control framework, including documentation of key processes, control design, and coordination of testing and remediation efforts.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting
- Oversee accounting for fab-less semiconductor manufacturing operations, including wafer fabrication, packaging, and testing.
- Manage inventory accounting across the supply chain.
- Establish standard costing methodologies and ensure accurate product costing and margin reporting.
- Manage inventory reserves, including excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
- Monitor manufacturing commitments and purchase obligations, including NCNR agreements.
- Oversee financial accounting for relationships with foundries and outsourced assembly and test partners (OSATs).
- Manage accounting for:
o Wafer bank and die bank inventory
o Packaging and testing costs
o Vendor-managed inventory
o Consignment arrangements
Operational Accounting
- Lead operational accounting processes including Inventory and Cost Accounting
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to ensure proper financial controls around manufacturing transactions.
- Work with supply chain and operations teams to track production costs and yields.
- Oversee equity administration operations, including coordination of stock grants, option exercises, and cap table management through Carta, ensuring accuracy of equity records and supporting option administration processes.
- Develop scalable accounting policies and procedures to support business growth.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead ERP and financial system implementations and upgrades.
- Drive automation and process improvements across accounting operations.
- Ensure financial systems properly support inventory tracking, costing, and manufacturing reporting.
Tax & Compliance
- Oversee global tax provision, compliance, and transfer pricing matters.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on federal, state, and international tax filings.
- Support legal entity and international tax structuring.
Qualifications
- CPA required
- Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
- Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP and SOX 404
- Experience in fab-less semiconductor or manufacturing companies
- Deep understanding of inventory and cost accounting
- Experience leading ERP implementations
- Strong knowledge of global tax and compliance
- Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
