IT Cyber Security Administrator

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven IT Cyber Security Administrator to help strengthen and maintain our organization's cybersecurity and compliance posture. In this role, you will support the implementation of security controls, monitor for threats, and ensure adherence to key regulatory frameworks.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on security operations with user training, compliance support, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls
- Assist with compliance initiatives related to CMMC (Level 1 & 2), DFARS, and ITAR
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure adherence to security standards
- Audit security controls and processes to identify risks and gaps
- Monitor security systems and tools to detect and respond to potential threats
- Assist with incident response activities, risk assessments, and remediation efforts
- Deliver security awareness training and guide end users on best practices
- Administer security tools, including:
- Password management systems
- Security awareness training platforms
- Security monitoring / SIEM tools
- Track and improve user compliance with security protocols
- Identify opportunities to strengthen security posture and recommend improvements
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and trends
Qualifications

Required Experience>
- 5+ years of experience in Information Security or Cybersecurity
- 3+ years of experience in incident response, risk assessment, or security operations
- Hands-on experience supporting compliance programs (CMMC, DFARS, ITAR preferred)

Technical Skills>
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and threat detection
- Experience with:
- Security monitoring tools (SIEM or similar platforms)
- Identity and access management solutions
- Security awareness and training tools
- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, systems, and data environments
- Experience with Microsoft-based environments

Education
