Sr. Cloud Solution Architect with Health Payer Experience

The Senior Cloud Solution Architect proactively and holistically leads and supports enterprise architecture (EA) activities related to cloud computing and hybrid infrastructure solutions. This role guides the design, migration, and management of secure, scalable, and cost‑effective cloud and on‑premise solutions that enable business transformation initiatives within a healthcare payer environment.
The Senior Cloud Solution Architect understands business goals, business capabilities, value streams, and operational processes, and translates them into cloud architecture strategies and solution designs. The role bridges complex business problems and technology solutions by collaborating closely with application development teams, infrastructure teams, security partners, and business stakeholders.
The architect creates and maintains architectural deliverables supporting the organization’s portfolio of “as‑is” and “to‑be” cloud and hybrid solutions, including public cloud platforms (Azure as primary, limited AWS, Google Cloud Platform for data workloads), on‑premise data centers utilizing VMware virtualization, shared infrastructure services, and cloud-native platforms. All solutions must align with enterprise standards, architectural governance, regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA), and Agile delivery practices
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in information technology, with at least 4–5 years in cloud or solution architecture roles.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and managing hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure (primary public cloud platform).
- Working experience with:
- AWS (limited workloads)
- Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), particularly for data and analytics use cases
- On‑premise data centers leveraging VMware virtualization
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, security, monitoring, and cost optimization.
- Experience supporting application migration and modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum delivery models and working within Agile teams.
- Strong healthcare payer domain knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PHI protection).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare payer industry (claims, enrollment, provider, care management).
- Cloud certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform certifications.
- Experience with infrastructure automation, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with FinOps principles and cloud cost governance.
- Experience working closely with enterprise architecture and infrastructure operations teams.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
