Job Title: Clinical Service Desk Analyst I

Employment Type: Contract - 6months
Position Summary
The Clinical Service Desk Analyst I provides customer support for IT Clinical Applications, including EHR systems, across both Acute and Ambulatory settings. This role handles user issues via a centralized service desk, delivers supplemental training, collaborates with project teams, and ensures clinical applications align with patient care workflows and organizational standards. Serves as a liaison between clinical staff, onsite support teams, and IT.
Core Functions
1. Maintain current knowledge of healthcare IT trends, clinical practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational workflows.
2. Answer, log, triage, and resolve user requests via calls, emails, and messages. Escalate issues as necessary and document all interactions.
3. Advocate for clinical workflow alignment with EHR systems, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.
4. Collaborate with IT clinical application teams, educators, and other departments to investigate and resolve system issues.
5. Utilize knowledge bases and online tools; assist in training peers; support project implementations and post-go-live evaluations; escalate critical issues immediately.
6. Support users at all levels; work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment; act as a change agent across projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field OR
o Clinical license/certification OR
o 2+ years in a clinical environment and/or technical support for clinical applications.
Experience with EMRs such as Cerner, PACS, or related systems.
Proficiency with office applications and integrated clinical systems.
Strong communication, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional clinical certifications (e.g., PT/OT, RT, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CHFM, ARM, CPP, CHPA).
Additional experience or education in clinical applications and healthcare technology.
Physical Demands
Extensive sitting; some standing and walking.
May lift up to 20 lbs.
Requires computer and phone use; visual acuity; ability to communicate clearly.
Possible off-site travel.
