💼 Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support and maintain Ferris State University’s Ellucian Banner ERP environment, running on Oracle databases hosted on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
The role involves database administration, performance optimization, security, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and troubleshooting across production and non-production environments.
🛠️ Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience
- Direct experience supporting and administering Ellucian Banner ERP
- Oracle database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Linux server administration
- Oracle RMAN backup, recovery, restore, and validation
- Database performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting
- Database security, user accounts, privileges, and access controls
- Banner upgrades, cloning, and environment refreshes
- Disaster recovery planning, testing, and DR drills
- SQL and PL/SQL, database objects, and database-related requests
- Middleware support: Apache Tomcat and Java/OpenJDK
- Familiarity with Ellucian Solution Manager, Broadcom Applications Manager, TouchNet Banner Connect, and related Banner components
- Coordination with infrastructure, networking, and application teams
⚠️ Important
Candidates with direct Ellucian Banner + Oracle DBA + RHEL experience will be prioritized. General Oracle DBA experience alone may not be sufficient for this specialized role.
