Position Overview

This position involves designing and implementing software solutions and ensuring current and new technologies are effectively integrated to fulfill business needs. As a Software Architect, the candidate will make high-level design choices and dictate technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms.

Mandatory Qualifications

Skill Level: Expert (84+ Months of experience).
Capability: Candidate must be able to provide guidance to large teams and/or have extensive industry experience, being considered at the top of their field.

Requested Qualifications (Point-Wise)

84 months of experience designing and implementing highly available and scalable multitier applications using Object Oriented or Service Oriented Architecture involving data structures, algorithms, software design, and JEE design patterns.
84 months of experience in developing applications that are implemented with JAVA Development Kit (JDK 1.8 or higher).
72 months of experience using J2EE based Application Servers such as WebSphere Application Server 7.0 or higher.
72 months of experience in developing applications using JPA and/or Hibernate using Oracle or SQL Server databases.
72 months of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ & JMS.
72 months of experience with web development using JSF/JSP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Day-to-Day Tasks

Implement Integrated Justice Portal standards related to application technologies, including UI standards, development methodology, and coding/style guides.
Act as the primary technical liaison with infrastructure teams to resolve problems and implement solutions impacting application performance.
Work with the Infrastructure team on performance test planning, execution failure failover planning, endurance testing, and deployment planning.
Provide analysis, design development, and code review of enterprise applications using JAVA/JEE, JSF, XML, XSLT, and IBM Portal/WebSphere software.
Perform oversight of development activities including data analysis, data structures, data manipulation, and logical database models.
Prepare and review technical documentation such as designs and schemas.
Provide technical guidance to a team of developers.
Perform knowledge transfer, including cross-training and written documentation for enhancements or development projects.

Additional Requirements

Interview Format: Webcasting (Candidate required to be on camera).
Security: Mandatory ITS Security Agreements and Fingerprint-based Background Check.
Typical Agency Software: JAVA, JEE, RAD, MQ Series, SOA, SQL, Web Services, XML, XSLT, AJAX, IBM Rational, JSF, JavaScript, MS Visio, Subversion (SVM), and Maven.
Daily Work Hours: 8-hour days (ranging from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm) with a 1/2-hour unpaid lunch.
