Role: Confluent Kafka Migration Engineer

Need someone with experience in Kafka migration from Amazon MSK to CC

MSK takeout opp / carve; requires strong Confluent Cloud expertise, familiarity with kcp tooling, understanding of networking patterns in AWS as well as cluster linking, mirror topic strategy

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Kafka platform engineer to lead and execute the migration of workloads from Amazon MSK to Confluent Cloud as part of a business carve-out initiative.

This role requires deep expertise in Confluent Cloud, Kafka architecture, AWS networking, and enterprise-grade migration strategies. The candidate will design and implement cluster linking, topic replication strategies, and application cutover with minimal downtime and zero data loss.

. Kafka Platform Migration Strategy

Assess existing MSK clusters (topics, partitions, replication, ACLs, configs).

Hands-on experience with Confluent Cloud migrations

Design target architecture in Confluent Cloud.

Plan cutover strategy (big bang vs phased migration).

Define rollback and validation procedures.
