RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Arvada, CO Embedded Firmware Development Engineer.
Summary:
Join a growing engineering technology company as an Embedded Firmware Development Engineer and play a key role in designing and developing software for advanced electro-mechanical systems. This is a hands-on position where you'll collaborate with hardware engineers and contribute to real-world embedded applications.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and implement firmware for embedded systems using modular programming techniques
* Integrate firmware with hardware designs for seamless functionality
* Optimize system performance and manage resource usage (e.g., memory)
* Develop and maintain OTA update strategies for secure device updates
* Test, debug, and ensure compliance with industry standards
* Provide technical support and troubleshoot deployed devices
* Document specifications, architecture, and testing procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
* 3-5+ years of bare-metal embedded firmware development experience
* Strong programming skills in C; familiarity with C++ and RTOS is a plus
* Knowledge of microcontroller architectures, peripherals, and ARM processors
* Experience with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART); USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi are a plus
* Familiarity with development tools (Eclipse, Keil, GCC, IAR, Visual Studio)
* Understanding of memory management and optimization techniques
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Leadership experience is a plus but not required
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
