Summary

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable cloud-based solutions across AWS and/or Azure. In this role, you will optimize cloud infrastructure, drive automation through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD, and ensure rigorous adherence to security, performance, and regulatory standards for enterprise and research applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure: Design and deploy robust cloud architectures (compute, storage, networking, and identity) with security built in from the outset using least-privilege principles and defense-in-depth.
  • Automation & Deployment: Implement and maintain IaC frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines to ensure repeatable, auditable, and safe deployments with automated rollbacks.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce compliance with enterprise security standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, SOX). Monitor cloud posture continuously via CSPM tooling and integrate security with enterprise threat models.
  • Optimization & Operational Excellence: Drive FinOps practices, monitor performance and cost efficiency, right-size resources, and contribute to platform engineering guardrails and post-incident improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience) paired with 3+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience in a production enterprise environment (AWS and/or Azure).
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with IaC tools, version control (Git), and scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation. Strong grasp of networking, virtualization, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud-native security.
  • Preferred Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional), AWS DevOps Engineer, or Azure Administrator/Architect certifications strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Background: Experience with FinOps, observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), Kubernetes in production (EKS/AKS), and compliance frameworks within regulated industries (life sciences, healthcare, or pharma).
