Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Testing Consultant to serve as a Subject Matter Expert in test design, test execution, defect evaluation, and process improvement to support a state-based health insurance marketplace transition project.

Location: Salem, OR 97301 (100% Remote - Work must be performed within the US)
Work Arrangement: Remote
Role Type: Contract
Interview: MS Teams (Virtual)
Shift: Pacific Standard Time (PST)

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning: Develop release-level test plans, define entry/exit quality gates, and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM).
UAT Execution: Design, update, and execute complex manual User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios, validating functional and non-functional requirements.
Defect Management: Log, track, and triage defects using tools like Azure DevOps and Jira, documenting clear reproduction steps and coordinating resolution re-tests.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Guide and support business SMEs during testing cycles, lead bug hunts, and participate in daily Scrum ceremonies.
Automation Identification: Evaluate test suites to identify candidates for automated testing and collaborate with automation engineers on regression coverage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Testing Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in IT/Testing, developing test strategies, RTMs, test cases, defect reports, and release readiness documentation.
UAT & Agile Expertise: Deep hands-on knowledge of User Acceptance Testing processes, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and Agile/Scrum delivery.
Tooling: 4-6+ years of proficiency with Azure DevOps, Jira, and standard Microsoft Office suites.
Defect Lifecycle & Risk: Proven background in defect triage, risk-based testing, test coverage gap analysis, and release quality criteria.
Communication: 7-9+ years of advanced written and verbal communication skills across technical, business, and executive audiences.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in government, healthcare, or highly regulated environments.
Exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework).
Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG), performance testing, and test data management.
