Hiring: Multiple QA Automation Engineers / SDETs 100% Remote (U.S.)

Cambridge Resources is seeking multiple hands-on QA Automation Engineers / SDETs for a long-term, 100% remote opportunity.
This is not a pure manual QA role or a position for someone who primarily records, copies, or modifies existing automation scripts.

We need experienced engineers who can independently test Jira stories, understand business and technical requirements, validate applications across the UI, API, and database layers, and build automated coverage as part of completing the story.

Candidates should have 8+ years of overall business/technical experience, including at least 7 years in QA/SDET roles.

Technical Skills
TypeScript / Programming
Functions, parameters, and return values

Playwright
Playwright Test, test, and expect

Assertions and auto-waiting
Page Object Model / reusable automation
Avoiding brittle XPath/CSS selectors and hard waits
Diagnosing flaky tests

API Testing
REST request/response validation
HTTP status codes
Positive and negative testing

Backend data verification

SQL
SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, COUNT, and aggregations
Sorting and filtering
Validating inserts, updates, deletes, statuses, and relationships

The Engineer We Want
You should be able to take a Jira story and determine:
What are the acceptance criteria and edge cases? What happens at the API and database layers? What should be automated so the functionality remains covered?

You should be equally comfortable manually investigating an issue and opening your IDE to automate the appropriate coverage.

There will be a hands-on TypeScript / Playwright coding exercise, so candidates must be comfortable writing basic code independently without AI assistance.
