Job Details

Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in accurate and efficient client deliveries, as well as maintaining positive client relationships. This role includes using AutoCAD to develop land development site work and contributing to the monthly billing process. The position also plays an essential part in business development and department management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor client contacts and relationship strategies; serve as primary contact for multiple clients.
  • Supervise a team of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Technicians.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, project profitability, and schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Participate in business development and assist in formulating business and marketing plans.
  • Create and implement team quality systems and processes.
  • Assist with hiring, performance management, employee development, and resolving workplace issues.
  • Attend and/or lead meetings with clients, municipalities, boards, and agencies.
  • Manage work-in-progress, client billing accuracy, accounts receivable, and collections.
  • Ensure supervisory responsibilities align with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Direct and oversee engineering activities and design work.

Additional Information
The Senior Project Manager should be detail-oriented, professional, an effective communicator, motivated, and a strong team player.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant land development engineering experience (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Software Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ajera financial management (or equivalent) preferred

License Requirements
  • Valid North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (approximately 90% of the time)
  • Ability to observe details at close range
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly

Office environment
Typical schedule: Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM; Friday 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM
