We are partnering with a leading food manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Engineer II Industrial Utilities to join their Capital Projects team.

Compensation: $104,000 $130,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus
Travel: Up to 70%

About the Opportunity
This role is focused on leading and supporting capital projects that improve the safety, reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of critical industrial utility systems across multiple manufacturing facilities. The selected candidate will play a key role in infrastructure modernization, energy conservation initiatives, and long-term asset reliability programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead utility-focused capital projects from concept development through commissioning
Support projects involving electrical power distribution, water treatment, steam systems, compressed air, HVAC, hydronic systems, and ammonia refrigeration
Conduct facility assessments and recommend infrastructure upgrades
Develop project scopes, obtain vendor proposals, and assist with capital budgeting
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility providers, and plant operations teams
Monitor project execution, perform site inspections, and support startup activities
Deliver operational and safety training related to new systems and equipment
Support regulatory compliance initiatives and infrastructure reliability programs
Identify and implement energy conservation and greenhouse gas reduction opportunities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
4+ years of experience supporting capital projects involving industrial utility systems
Experience with one or more of the following:
Ammonia refrigeration systems
Boiler and steam systems
Compressed air systems
High-voltage electrical power distribution
Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills
Ability to travel up to 70%
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Engineering
Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations
Knowledge of co-generation systems, energy efficiency, or sustainability initiatives
Familiarity with electrical safety standards and relay protection schemes
Experience working directly with utility companies during project implementation
