Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Sr. QA Automation Tester for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Irving, TX .
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications.
- Requires a strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and a passion for delivering high-quality products.
- Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to understand project requirements and define comprehensive test strategies.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver in Java.
- Design, write, and execute detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured manual test plans and test cases.
- Perform thorough manual functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Conduct exploratory testing to uncover defects and usability issues not covered by formal test cases.
- Implement and maintain test automation frameworks (e.g., Page Object Model, TestNG/JUnit, Cucumber BDD) to ensure efficient and organized testing.
- Execute automated tests, analyze results, and identify defects, working closely with development teams for resolution.
- Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) to support agile development practices.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, smoke, sanity and integration testing, leveraging automation where appropriate.
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger to validate backend services.
- Perform database validation by writing and executing SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
- Participate in code reviews of test automation scripts to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Provide clear and concise reporting on test progress, defect status, and overall product quality to stakeholders.
- Continuously research and implement new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process.
- Contribute to the improvement of overall software quality processes and practices within the team.
Required Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on test automation.
- Proficient in designing and developing automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver.
- Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, Pytest, NUnit, or similar.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern.
- Design, write, and execute detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured manual test plans and test cases.
- Perform thorough manual functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Conduct exploratory testing to uncover defects and usability issues not covered by formal test cases.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of SQL for database validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in an agile environment.
Preferred Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Industry certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
- Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Experience with security testing concepts and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Relevant certifications in Quality Assurance or test automation.
- Experience with mobile application test automation.
