This is a short engagement.
Need a Cohesity admin who can perform health checks on the cluster. Cohesity is the shared backup platform underpinning both database estates, and its current SMB-based integration.
Following activities in deep-dive, job/policy review, I/O/QoS, replication/archive, security/immutability, prioritized recommendations.
Cohesity serves as the shared backup and recovery platform for the entire in-scope database estate, protecting both Oracle and the Microsoft SQL Server environment including the international instances across production and non-production clusters.
As part of this engagement, resource will perform a platform deep-dive covering cluster health, capacity and utilization, and achieved deduplication/compression effectiveness against the assumed 20% annual growth rate, along with a review of protection jobs and policies to evaluate the current SMB-share integration against native database integration methods and their impact on backup-window performance.
The assessment will also examine I/O throughput, QoS configuration, and workload segregation between database and non-database tenants on shared nodes, evaluate restore-path capabilities such as instant recovery and instant mass restore, and review inter-site replication and cloud archive configuration for bandwidth and retention adequacy.
Cohesity's security and immutability posture encryption at rest, RBAC, and DataLock/air-gap protection will be evaluated against SOX and DORA obligations. Findings will be consolidated into a set of prioritized Critical/High/Medium/Low configuration-change recommendations; this is an assessment and recommendation engagement only, and no changes will be made to the Cohesity environment.
