Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. This role requires a candidate with leadership qualities who can drive solutions, translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications, and interface directly with users. The position focuses on the clinical quality, market, and value domains within a healthcare environment, where the ideal candidate will build data pipelines rather than reports or dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions.
- Translate business and stakeholder requirements into technical data engineering tasks.
- Lead and execute data projects with minimal oversight, including setting meetings and guiding team strategy.
- Work with healthcare data, including clinical quality data and national claims data sets.
- Ensure data solutions align with data governance and data privacy standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Ingest and process large datasets to support market analysis and competitor comparisons.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database management, or related roles, with significant experience managing work and leading projects.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in SQL and SparkSQL.
- Familiarity with Python for data engineering tasks.
- Required knowledge of Databricks.
- Experience with database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with healthcare data, particularly from Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Epic systems.
- Background in clinical quality, market analysis, or value-based care domains.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., CMS).
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually. The pay rate for contract work is expected to be between $55.00 and $80.00 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
