Senior Automation QA Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Automation QA Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test solutions for complex, public-facing healthcare applications. The role requires strong experience in test automation frameworks, API testing, UAT support, and Agile QA practices, with the ability to collaborate closely with development and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Testing

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts and frameworks

• Automate functional, regression, smoke, and integration tests

• Build automation solutions for web applications and REST APIs

• Tag and organize automated test suites for CI/CD execution

API & Microservices Testing

• Develop automated tests for RESTful APIs and microservices

• Validate request/response payloads, status codes, and data integrity

• Integrate API automation with CI/CD pipelines using Git and Jenkins

UAT & Functional Testing Support

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities

• Translate business and functional requirements into test scenarios

• Execute manual tests where automation is not feasible

• Validate end-to-end workflows and downstream system integrations

Test Planning & Quality Assurance

• Create and maintain test plans, automation coverage reports, and execution metrics

• Review test results and analyze failures

• Log, track, and retest defects using tools such as JIRA

• Participate in peer reviews and QA best practices

Performance & Non-Functional Testing (Plus)

• Support performance and load testing activities

• Use tools such as JMeter, Gatling, BlazeMeter, or similar

• Assist in baseline performance validation

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in QA automation or test engineering

• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar)

• Strong experience in API testing and automation

• Programming/scripting experience with Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript

• Experience working in Agile / Iterative development environments

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber or equivalent)

• Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines

• Knowledge of SQL and database validation

• Experience testing public-facing or enterprise systems

• Exposure to healthcare, insurance, or government applications

• Experience with cross-browser and mobile testing

Nice-to-Have / Plus Skills

• Performance testing exposure

• Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (Sauce Labs or similar)

• Familiarity with microservices architecture

• Knowledge of HTML/CSS for UI validation
