Our client, a Medical Center facility under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of largest health delivery systems in California, seeks accomplished Oracle Cloud / PeopleSoft BSA (Grants, Projects, AR).

*** Duration: 19 weeks contract w/ possibility of extensions

 

Notes:

  • Work Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Preference for hybrid (3 days per month) but open to 100% remote non-local candidates.

 

Description:

  • Provide functional support and expertise for Research Administration Systems (RAS), Accounts Receivable (AR), and related integrations and connected business processes.
  • Serve as a critical bridge between end users, business stakeholders, operational units, and technical development resources.
  • Partner with operational units, including Accounting, Research, and Academic Departments, as well as technical units.
  • Analyze business practices, processes, systems, data, and complex problems to develop appropriate technology-based solutions.
  • Gather, analyze, validate, and document operational and business requirements from end users and key stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications that can be coordinated with development resources.
  • Apply advanced functional and technical knowledge throughout requirements, analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support activities.
  • Create system specifications and design solutions that align business requirements with software functionality.
  • Perform extensive data analysis and system integrity reviews to confirm system performance, results, and data integrity.
  • Understand, validate, and routinely test system functions, including during system upgrades.
  • Provide daily end-user support and triage highly complex system issues using incident management procedures and ticketing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex business and system issues through analysis of application functionality, design principles, data structures, and system dependencies.
  • Identify key design dependencies and decision points when developing or modifying business applications.
  • Execute activities within established Software Development Life Cycle procedures covering system design and documentation, knowledge management, fixes, enhancements, upgrades, and new implementations.
  • Plan and execute unit, integration, and end-user acceptance testing.
  • Support software maintenance, new implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing financial and administrative system operations.
  • Provide functional system analysis and support across PeopleSoft modules for Grants, Contracts, Projects, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger.
  • Support related applications and integrations for research and other applicable areas, including Student AR and Sundry Billing.
  • Create and maintain detailed system and functional documentation.
  • Develop training materials to support system implementation, ongoing system support, and change management.
  • Collaborate with and often lead cross-functional teams to resolve highly complex business or systems issues.
  • Work with the Enterprise Applications Team to support successful implementation, maintenance, and operation of financial and administrative systems.
  • Apply advanced knowledge and work with stakeholders in a predominantly independent manner under the direction of the Research Admin System Manager.
  • Manage complex assignments with a high degree of autonomy, applying recognized expertise to unique or unstructured issues and problems.
  • Support changing modules and business processes as organizational needs evolve, with responsibilities realigned as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience in functional and technical support of enterprise software, including PeopleSoft Grants, Contracts, Projects, Billing, and Accounts Receivable (AR) modules.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Grants, Projects, and AR implementation and functional support.
  • Knowledge of database table structures, functions, processes, integrations, and design components.
  • High proficiency in SQL, query creation, data extraction, data organization, and analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of application design, functional and technical documentation requirements, and testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, synthesize, and prioritize highly complex end-user requirements.
  • Ability to effectively translate, summarize, and present requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with developers, including in-house teams and third-party vendors.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technical change management procedures for supporting enterprise software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate business and technical information to personnel at various organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
