Systems Analyst

Role Overview

We are seeking a Systems Analyst to support large-scale healthcare analytics and interoperability initiatives, with a strong focus on quality reporting and standards-based data exchange. This role is highly technical and hands-on, working primarily in backend data environments involving complex healthcare data, HL7 standards, and analytics platforms.

The ideal candidate is comfortable operating at the intersection of business requirements, data architecture, and technical implementation translating healthcare data needs into precise specifications, models, and mappings that engineering teams can confidently execute.

Core Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of IT experience supporting system design, data integration, and application implementation initiatives.

Technical Expertise

• Strong working experience with SQL, including advanced querying and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with data formats and technologies such as XML, JSON, Erwin, and Ab Initio.
• Deep familiarity with HL7 standards (v2, v3, and FHIR), including:
  • Interoperability and data exchange approaches
  • Implementation patterns
  • Mapping HL7 data structures to FHIR resources
  • Persisting HL7/FHIR data for reporting and analytical use

Data & Analytics

• Solid background in data warehousing, data profiling, data quality assessment, and analytics.
• Experience designing and maintaining data models, with at least 3 years working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, DB2, or comparable platforms.
• Knowledge of reference data management, governance practices, and endtoend data lineage.

Systems Analysis & Documentation

• Proven experience producing detailed technical artifacts, including:
  • Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS)
  • Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM)
  • Source-to-Target mappings (S2T)
  • Data Exchange Documents (DED)
  • Logical and physical data models
• Skilled in eliciting business requirements, assessing current-state systems, and creating clear system and functional design documentation (use cases, specifications, models, and mockups).

Collaboration & Ways of Working

• Demonstrated ability to work in complex, multi-team environments, including coordination across vendor and partner teams.
• Experience serving as a subject matter expert across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Familiarity with multiple development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).

• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to break down complex data problems.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and active listening skills.
• Comfortable engaging stakeholders at varying levels of technical depth.

Preferred Qualifications

• HL7 or FHIR-related certifications.
• Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of healthcare data governance, quality, lineage, and security concepts.
• Experience within healthcare, payor, or regulated health data environments (e.g., quality measures, EHR-derived data).
• Exposure to federal healthcare programs.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
