Data Engineering Manager

Overview
Seeking a hands-on engineering leader to guide a small data engineering team while driving modernization of a cloud-based data platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and perform code reviews for a team of engineers.
- Design and optimize cloud-based data warehouse solutions and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Improve platform performance, scalability, and data reliability.
- Partner with development teams to support enterprise data initiatives.
- Establish best practices for architecture, testing, monitoring, and data quality.
- Evaluate and implement modern data engineering technologies.
Qualifications
5-6+ years of data engineering or backend engineering experience.
- Prior leadership or team management experience.
- Strong SQL and Python skills.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (AWS Redshift preferred).
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, or similar).
- Experience modernizing legacy data environments is a plus.
Additional Information
- Remote position with occasional travel to the New York City area.
