OverviewLead the strategy, delivery, and optimization of technology solutions across R&D and Medical, Professional & Scientific Affairs (MP&SA) by integrating deep IT expertise with healthcare and product development needs. Drive a global technology portfolio across Vision Care and Surgical Vision, strengthen cross functional collaboration, and shape an end-to-end digital strategy that accelerates innovation, enhances product lifecycle performance, and deliver high impact R&D outcomes. Advance MP&SA's mission by elevating medical, scientific, and educational leadership to build trust, strengthen professional equity, and optimize patient outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesBusiness & Technology Strategy- Partner with R&D and MP&SA leadership to co-develop technology roadmaps aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Translate strategy into actionable digital initiatives that drive operational excellence, quality, and resilience.
- Prioritize and manage an annual global technology portfolio that meets current needs and anticipates future capabilities.
- Shape a unified Data & Analytics strategy that elevates data management and maturity across a complex R&D ecosystem.
- Integrate multiple digital products into cohesive end-to-end solutions for a more connected technology landscape.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner, challenging assumptions and driving innovation.
Value Management- Define and track value delivery through well-structured OKRs and performance metrics.
- Monitor and communicate business outcomes, from customer satisfaction to operational KPIs and platform performance.
- Lead business case development and investment planning, ensuring strategic allocation of a multibillion dollar technology portfolio.
- Govern technology demand, budgeting, and prioritization with disciplined portfolio oversight.
Execution & Delivery- Guide the full lifecycle of digital initiatives, from discovery to deployment, ensuring alignment to user needs and measurable outcomes.
- Foster strong collaboration across R&D, MP&SA, Technology Services, Cyber Security, Privacy, Quality, Procurement, External partners, etc.
- Leverage enterprise platforms and emerging technologies to accelerate time to value and scalability.
- Apply Agile and lean practices to improve speed, adaptability, and continuous learning.
Leadership- Inspire and align cross-functional teams around a shared vision for technology-enabled transformation.
- Shape team culture through coaching, inclusion, and diversity of thought.

Technical Qualifications- Cloud & Integration: Experience with AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
- Data & Analytics: Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, and operational analytics.
- Risk Mgmt & Regulatory Standards: Understanding of risk, compliance, and healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).
- Project & Portfolio Tools: Skilled in Jira, Microsoft Project, or comparable tools.
- Agile Delivery: Experience leading teams using SDLC/Agile and product-centric methodologies.
General Qualifications Required:- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant business-technology experience (or 5+ with an advanced degree).
- 4+ years leading complex IT programs or multi-product technology initiatives.
- Proven ability to collaborate and influence within matrixed, global organizations.
- Experience partnering and shaping with senior leadership
- Strong program and portfolio management capabilities, including financials, risks, and dependencies.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and business audiences.
- Experience in regulated environments (MedTech, Pharma, or Life Sciences).
- Exposure to design thinking, lean startup, or innovation frameworks is a plus.
Preferred:- PMP, Agile, or Product Management certification.
- Experience leading technology design across multiple products or product groups.
- Experience delivering programs using Agile-at-scale models.
- Ability to apply AI technologies to accelerate delivery, enhance decision-making, and drive business outcomes.
- Understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including agentic AI, and ability to translate capabilities into product strategy.
- Awareness of responsible AI and ethical considerations.
- Hands-on experience creating, refining, and optimizing prompts to improve workflow performance.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new AI tools and platforms.

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
- Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
- Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
