Job Details

Position Summary:
Title: Business Analyst Standard II
Location: Washington, DC 20433 (100% onsite)
Duration: 12 Months - Long Term

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Deep understanding of Agile concepts and ceremonies, SCRUM, Kanban and SAFe.
  • Collaboration with Product Owners to define the MVP and prioritize the backlog. The focus is on delivering through iterative releases. 
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and backlog refinement, user story mapping and workshops.
  • Translate business needs into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria using Azure DevOps.
  • Maintain a well-organized and prioritized backlog in alignment with business goals. 
  • Act as a bridge between the development, QA, design and business teams.
  • Lead discussions, gather feedback and make sure of common shared understanding.
  • Document business and functional requirements through development of user stories, business architecture, business process and workflows, and other documentation as needed.
  • Develop test plans, test strategies and test cases.
  • Provide status updates to the product owner documenting progress and identifying risks or potential project delays. In addition, maintain project timelines and keep the product owner and client updated during all stages of a project.

Selection Criteria

  • 5-8 years of experience as a business analyst with exposure to enterprise IT products
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems - Master’s degree is a plus
  • Working level experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies
  • Technical knowledge of content management systems for the web
  • Extensive experience in gathering business requirements and developing functional specifications
