Position OverviewThe
Engineering Manager will lead and manage the engineering team at our
Houston office, ensuring consistent application of project engineering processes, tools, and standards. This role is critical for driving operational excellence, resource planning, and team development while supporting project delivery objectives and customer satisfaction. Prior experience with
Triconex and/or
Foxboro DCS systems is highly desirable.
What will you do?Leadership & Governance- Define, implement, and maintain standardized processes, systems, and tools to ensure consistent and effective project engineering practices across the department.
- Promote adherence to global and regional engineering governance standards as defined by Global Delivery Engineering Management and the Regional Engineering Director.
Resource & Capacity Management- Develop and manage engineering resource forecasts using the Capacity Planning tool.
- Coordinate monthly updates with Project Managers and the Territory Delivery Director and provide recommendations to leadership regarding headcount adjustments.
- Optimize resource sharing within the Territory and across other offices and countries to maximize utilization and effectiveness.
Talent Development & Performance- Elevate engineering team skills and competencies by contributing to training curriculum design, development, and deployment in collaboration with the Process Automation Global Engineering Management team.
- Address project-specific resource performance issues through action planning, risk mitigation, and follow-up.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all engineers under your management, providing feedback and development plans.
Project & Financial Oversight- Ensure territory engineering teams meet financial objectives for all projects while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare accurate engineering estimates and support proposal development for customer opportunities.
- Monitor and report Territory Engineering KPI performance against targets, including Billable Utilization %, Planned vs Actual Billable Hours, Absorption recovery, and Training Utilization %.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with Sales and Tendering teams to provide execution analysis and engineering estimates for project bids, while identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
- Collaborate with Proposal, Service, Finance, HR, and other business units to ensure synergy and business continuity.
- Participate in monthly local project reviews and bi-monthly regional Delivery reviews, sharing performance insights and best practices with peers and leadership.
Employee Engagement- Support the Territory Delivery Director in driving employee engagement initiatives and improving team morale.
- Encourage team participation in the One-Voice Survey; analyze results and implement action plans to address areas of improvement and enhance future scores.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?Experience: 15 + years of professional engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of project engineering practices and tools; proficiency with Triconex and/or Foxboro DCS systems required. Familiarity with Schneider Electric products such as Foxboro, Modicon, and Triconex is an asset.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability in critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective decision-making.
Organizational Skills: Proven capability to plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Conflict Resolution: Experience in managing and resolving resource or project-related conflicts.
Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business drivers and ability to align engineering execution with client objectives; financial acumen is a plus.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; ability to influence and collaborate across teams and functions.
Leadership Attributes: Strategic thinker with operational focus; able to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Flexibility & Resilience: High energy level, adaptable attitude, and willingness to travel and work extended hours when required.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively to achieve revenue and project objectives.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 142,400 - USD 213,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
