Power BI Embedded Engineer / Developer

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Power BI Embedded Engineer to design, develop, and integrate embedded analytics within the LockThreat platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, secure data access, and application-level integrations.
This role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and user-specific reporting experiences, ensuring users can only access data based on their authentication and authorization levels.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement Power BI Embedded solutions within the LockThreat application.
Ensure secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, enabling role-based and user-level access to reports and datasets.
Develop and manage row-level security (RLS) and other access control strategies in Power BI.
Enable report viewing and download capabilities for authorized users.
Integrate Power BI reports with LockThreat features such as email notifications, alerts, and workflows.
Build and maintain a configuration panel within LockThreat to dynamically connect and manage Power BI reports.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless UI/UX integration of embedded reports.
Optimize performance and scalability of embedded dashboards and datasets.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data access, embedding, and report performance.

Next Phase Responsibilities (Future Enhancements):
Implement drill-down and interactive analytics capabilities within embedded reports.
Ensure drill-down functionality respects user authentication and authorization controls.
Enhance reporting capabilities with advanced filtering and dynamic data exploration features.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience working with Power BI, including Power BI Embedded.
Strong experience with:
Power BI Service & Power BI Embedded (Azure)
DAX, Power Query, and data modeling
Hands-on experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and data access controls.
Experience with authentication and authorization frameworks (Azure AD, OAuth, SSO).
Strong understanding of REST APIs and embedding techniques.
Experience integrating Power BI with custom applications or SaaS platforms.
Knowledge of data security best practices and governance.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Azure services (Azure AD, Azure App Services, Azure SQL, etc.).
Familiarity with backend development (C#, .NET, Node.js, or Python).
Experience in building admin/configuration panels for application integrations.
Knowledge of email integrations and event-driven workflows.
Experience working in cybersecurity or risk management platforms (nice to have).
