Our Salt lake City based client is in search of a Network Security Administrator.

Job Responsibilities

Reports to the Director, Network Administration. Responsible for maintaining the Security, and integrity of the overall client's network, protecting us from threats and staying within compliance of policies and relevant regulations.
Essential Functions
  • Oversee administration of servers, network, and PC systems at corporate and remote sites to ensure that they are secure and updated. Assist with, performance monitoring, problem determination and resolution.
  • Design and maintain Windows Active directory structure including Group Policies, DFS, security and redundancy.
  • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets.
  • Work closely with vendors, products and other security resources to provide and maintain a defense in depth network security strategy and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Analyze and respond to various security systems including, Logs, HIDS, NIDS, DLP.
  • Audit the security of the network on an annual basis, document findings, and provide timely resolution to the findings.
  • Maintain secure configurations on Network switches, firewalls and intrusion prevention systems. Update security signatures as needed and keep network core infrastructure and software up to date.
  • Maintain Virtualization infrastructure and technology that keeps services redundant, backed up and replicated to our Disaster Recovery Site.
  • Maintain policies and procedures that keep the network secure and in compliance with relative regulatory guidelines such as HIPPA, CJIS, BOP, DOL, etc.
  • Contribute to on-call rotation for 24x7 support of helpdesk and network systems.
  • Participate in scheduled off hours monthly maintenance activities.
  • Ensure systems get patched and updated regularly and provide timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
  • Monitor and maintain uptime of critical and secondary IS servers, networks and services.
  • Assist with technical requirements needed for proposals and new site startups.
  • Perform cost/benefit analysis, evaluate and recommend software and peripheral hardware for user applications.
  • Coordinate new Corrections sites startups including equipment budget, network design, installation and training.
  • Oversee network security at MTC correctional facilities and take necessary actions to minimize the chance of inmates gaining access to internet or company data.
  • Provide annual IS capital and Operations budgets to correctional facilities.
  • Oversee data replication and network backups at Corporate, Regional Offices, and Corrections and remote sites to include LAN, security and e-mail administration.
  • Work with the Point of Contacts (POCs) at remote sites on technical issues, maintaining hardware and software asset inventories and provide ongoing training
  • Provide staff training for corporate and site staff to increase productivity.
  • Provide technical support and excellent customer service.
  • Use call tracking system to document all customer interaction and to record technical information and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accountability of property; adheres to safety practices.

  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and six years related experience.
  • Current CISSP, Security+, Cisco CCNA and/or Microsoft MCSE certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Servers, Microsoft Exchange, MS SQL and Palo Alto Firewalls preferred. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements, if approved by management. Must be willing and able to travel. High standard of customer service, quality, and attention to detail. Ability to utilize a high degree of creativity, analytical thinking, and initiative to solve business problems. Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment as well as work independently while following documented processes and procedures. Desire to share knowledge amongst the team through documentation and cross-training. Ability to quickly learn new skills and systems.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
