We're looking for an experienced
Transport Network Engineer to support planning, engineering, and capacity expansion across U.S. Long Distance (LD) and Ultra-Long Haul (ULH) transport networks, including
SONET, DWDM, and OTN Mesh.
What you'll do:- Plan, forecast, and manage LD/ULH transport capacity and network builds
- Engineer logical transport designs and execute CCR-driven capacity augments
- Perform wavelength optimization, diversity analysis, and long-term capacity planning
- Develop equipment specs, BOMs, diagrams (Visio), and implementation plans
- Coordinate with NOC, operations, real estate, project management, and vendors
- Maintain accurate network inventory and support outage restorations
- Mentor junior engineers and support strategic network initiatives
What we're looking for:- BS in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5-10 years designing SONET and DWDM transport systems
- Strong logical transport knowledge (non-physical design focus)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Nice to have: Experience with
ICON, CCP, BGW, MECCA, Nautilus, Canvas, TCOMS, or nSAPHybrid role with occasional on-call support
