Genesis10 is currently seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining emerging database products on Linux operating systems. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Unix systems and scripting, with experience in distributed databases being a significant advantage. The position involves maintaining multiple development, performance, and production environments with a strong focus on operations and production support. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities: - Design, deploy, and maintain emerging database products on the Linux operating system
- Create and implement fully functional database clusters
- Maintain multiple development, performance, and production environments with a strong focus on operations and support
- Manage cluster areas, such as adding/removing nodes, consistency tuning, replication, and multi-DC configuration
Requirements: - 5+ years of UNIX/Linux experience with advanced knowledge of Shell scripting and/or Python scripting
- 3+ years of experience in NoSQL or any Distributed Database Technologies
- Experience with DevOps tools like BladeLogic or Ansible
- Must be versatile, flexible, and proactive when resolving technical issues
- Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Desired skills: - Experience and knowledge of distributed databases such as Cassandra, Singlestore, CockroachDB, or Redis
- Previous experience in high-volume environments
Pay rate: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
