Position: 100% Remote HealthCare IT Claims Product Owner
Location: Remote
Job Description
Senior Product Owner to support the ITS Claims team , focused on inter-plan and inter-state claims processing. This role requires strong healthcare payer experience, specifically within Blue Cross Blue Shield claims environments.
The Product Owner will act as the bridge between business, IT, and delivery teams, owning work from intake through delivery, including backlog management, defect tracking, and stakeholder communication.
Top 3–4 Required Skills
- Strong experience with Blue Cross Blue Shield claims / ITS Claims / BlueCard workflows
- Proven Product Owner experience in Agile environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Jira (and Jira Align preferred)
- Deep understanding of claims lifecycle and payer operations
Breakdown of Duties
- Support ITS Claims teams in defining, prioritizing, and delivering enhancements
- Translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
- Manage product backlog and sprint activities in Jira / Jira Align
- Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery tracking
- Track and manage defects, issues, and dependencies through resolution
- Provide regular status reporting to stakeholders and leadership
- Partner with business, QA, development, and operations teams
- Support UAT, defect triage, and production readiness
- Ensure documentation, traceability, and communication across the lifecycle
Hiring Requirements
- Strong healthcare payer experience, preferably within BCBS environments
- Experience with ITS Claims / inter-plan / inter-state claims processing
- Hands-on Product Owner experience with Agile delivery
- Strong experience managing backlogs, defects, and delivery workflows
- Ability to work across business, technical, and leadership stakeholders
- Strong analytical and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Facets or other payer claims platforms
- Knowledge of BlueCard or home/host claims workflows
- Familiarity with EDI transactions and claims processing standards
- Experience in large payer or enterprise environments
- Prior consulting experience in healthcare transformation
Recruiter Screening Focus
- Blue Cross Blue Shield experience (must-have)
- ITS Claims / BlueCard knowledge
- Facets experience is a plus
- Hands-on Product Owner capabilities (not just coordination)
- Jira / Jira Align experience
- Defect ownership and follow-through
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
