Summary

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and maintenance of information security measures that protect systems, applications, hardware, telecommunications, and related assets.
  • Collaborate with management, technical teams, risk partners, auditors, facilities, and security stakeholders to implement effective security plans.
  • Help define, refine, and document security processes, procedures, policies, and control expectations.
  • Assist with coordinating security technology tasks and projects, including planning, tracking, and status reporting.
  • Work with resource owners to identify appropriate protections for sensitive or critical resources.
  • Support the evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration of security tools and technologies.
  • Contribute to the review and interpretation of security events, policy exceptions, and authorization requests.
  • Assist with security awareness efforts, training, and communication to business and technical partners.
  • Help maintain security documentation, including resource classifications, project materials, and related records.
  • Support audit and log review activities, as well as disaster recovery planning and process improvements.
  • Research, evaluate, test, and recommend improvements to security practices, controls, and technologies.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of NIST 800-171 and NIST 800-53 controls and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with U.S. Government IT compliance requirements, including CMMC.
  • Background in developing and maintaining System Security Plans (SSPs).
  • Understanding of security regulations, control frameworks, and compliance documentation.
  • Practical audit and control testing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
  • Ability to research requirements, summarize findings clearly, and support informed decision-making.
  • Strong project coordination and task management skills with the ability to work across functional areas.
  • Professional judgment, integrity, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
Preferred Skills
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in information security, compliance, audit, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in the airline industry or a similarly complex enterprise environment.
  • Exposure to business planning, systems analysis, or application development.
  • Knowledge of data administration, security methods, and database design techniques.
  • Familiarity with multi-platform environments and IT auditing.
  • Experience working on security awareness, disaster recovery, or policy governance initiatives.
  • Comfort presenting security updates and project information to leadership and technical teams.
