Summary

Job#: 3058025

Job Description:

Role summary:

You will be the technical lead and architect for Salesforce Order Management (OMS). The platform takes every direct-to-consumer order from checkout to delivery, returns, refunds and warranty across North America and a growing number of European markets. This is a hands-on role: you set direction, make the hard architecture calls, deliver production work, and mentor two mid-level engineers while holding partner engineers to the same standards.

Mission:

Keep every direct-to-consumer order moving reliably from checkout to delivery, return, refund and warranty. Over 12 months, have in-house engineers own integration areas end to end, with less reliance on partners.

Key responsibilities:

Own technical direction for Salesforce Order Management: order lifecycle design, including approval and holds, payment capture, fraud checks, allocation, fulfilment, returns, refunds and warranty.

Define order and fulfilment state transitions, transaction boundaries and system-of-record responsibilities across Salesforce and integrated platforms.

Design and review integrations with payment providers, returns and logistics carriers, marketplaces and channel partners, marketing and transactional email platforms, warranty, address validation and age verification services, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

Design for idempotency, duplicate prevention, retries and reconciliation, so orders are not lost, duplicated or processed inconsistently.

Design for high volumes and peak season, including multiple warehouses and third-party logistics providers.

Lead multi-region rollouts into new countries through a configuration-driven model, covering locale, tax and regional integration differences.

Govern configuration as carefully as code. Changes to metadata-driven behaviour need the same review, traceability and testing as code.

Set up monitoring, alerting and dashboards for stuck orders, failed fulfilment orders, shipment errors, cancellation and refund failures, and integration exceptions.

Set and uphold engineering standards: automated testing, source-driven release management with promotion and rollback, structured logging and observability, and incident response.

Embed security and compliance: least-privilege access, secure handling of sensitive data, and audit-ready controls on financial and order-processing flows in a SOX-regulated environment.

Take extra care where AI touches payment, tax, refund or financial logic: require human-verified tests and keep the traceability that audit and compliance depend on.

Lead AI-assisted engineering across the team: build AI into how engineers design, code, test, debug and triage, share what works, and measure the effect on delivery speed and quality.

Govern AI use: approved tools only, no customer, payment or confidential data or credentials in prompts, the same review and security checks for AI-generated code, and checks on AI-suggested dependencies.

Direct partner delivery: set design standards, own architecture approval, and review partner engineers' work before it reaches production.

Mentor two mid-level engineers through code review, pairing, design guidance and clear growth goals, so each can own an integration area end to end.

Lead root-cause analysis when order flows break, and drive permanent fixes over manual workarounds.

Plan roadmap work with product and business partners, balancing speed, reliability and platform limits.

Work with the Core Platform teams (Service Cloud, Agentforce), who share the codebase and release pipeline, to keep patterns consistent.
