About the Role

Analog Devices is seeking a Staff Field Applications Engineer to serve as a system-level technical leader supporting optical modules, data center infrastructure, and energy management systems. In this senior role, you will engage directly with strategic customers to architect and support complete signal-chain solutions, spanning power, signal conditioning, data conversion, and system integration for high-performance optical and infrastructure platforms.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor across the entire signal chain, enabling customers to optimize performance, power efficiency, reliability, and scalability in data center and energy-aware systems. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Line Management, and Technology teams to influence customer architectures and product roadmaps in fast-growing markets.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical interface for customers developing optical modules, data center infrastructure, and energy management systems

Architect complete signal-chain solutions including power, signal conditioning, data conversion, clocking, and timing

Provide technical guidance on optical module electrical interfaces, thermal constraints, and interoperability

Engage early in customer architecture phases to influence design decisions and secure platform wins

Identify and drive new product and solution opportunities with cross-functional teams

Deliver technical workshops, seminars, and system-level demonstrations

Technical Focus Areas

Optical modules and transceivers (400G, 800G, 1.6T and beyond)

Energy management and metering solutions

Battery Management Systems

Emerging architectures such as co-packaged optics

Qualifications

BSEE required; MSEE preferred

Strong background in system-level signal-chain design

Experience with optical modules, data center platforms, or energy metering

Ability to lead complex customer technical engagements

Excellent lab, debug, and communication skills

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $163,530 to $224,854.
