Role: Sr. Appian Developer

Location: McLean, VA Locals Only- Hybrid
Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Appian Developer to design, develop, and modernize enterprise workflow and case management solutions within a mortgage and financial services environment. This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on building scalable, compliant business process solutions that integrate with enterprise data platforms and AWS-based services. The ideal candidate brings deep Appian expertise, strong workflow automation skills, and prior experience supporting mortgage programs (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac exposure preferred).

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Design, develop, and maintain Appian-based BPM applications supporting mortgage operations
• Translate business requirements into scalable Appian workflows, rules, and user interfaces
• Build and optimize SAIL interfaces, process models, record types, expression rules, and integrations
• Design and implement end-to-end enterprise workflow and case management solutions
• Integrate Appian applications with enterprise databases, APIs, and cloud services
• Collaborate with business, technology, and data teams to deliver compliant solutions
• Support application enhancements, performance optimization, and documentation

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on Appian application development experience
• Deep expertise with Appian platform components (SAIL, BPM, Records, Expressions)
• Strong SQL and data modeling experience with enterprise database integrations
• Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP APIs and secure integration patterns
• Working knowledge of Java to support custom integrations or backend services
• Experience working in AWS cloud environments
• Mortgage or financial services experience preferred (Freddie Mac exposure a plus)
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
