Role Overview & Context
We are seeking a Lead UX Designer to drive the end-to-end UI and UX delivery for a large-scale digital transformation programme. The role is based in Calgary, Toronto, or Winnipeg and works in close partnership with the UX Architect, product owners, and engineering teams to ship high-quality, production-ready experiences. The current programme is being delivered for an enterprise client in the logistics and transportation space.
The Lead UX Designer owns the craft - translating the experience vision, journey maps, and architectural frameworks into pixel-perfect, production-ready designs. The successful candidate will be a strong individual contributor who also leads a small pod of designers, ensuring consistent, high-quality UI and UX output across onboarding journeys, operational dashboards, and data-rich product experiences.
- Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day UI and UX design delivery for assigned modules within the programme
- Translate UX strategy, wireframes, and journey maps from the UX Architect into detailed, high-fidelity, production-ready designs in Figma
- Design intuitive screens and interaction flows for complex onboarding journeys, operational dashboards, and data-heavy experiences
- Conduct design reviews, usability walkthroughs, and iterate based on stakeholder feedback and user testing inputs
- Ensure all design outputs adhere to WCAG accessibility standards, usability heuristics, and the established design system
- Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to refine requirements and resolve design ambiguities during execution
- Skills, Experience & Profile
Required Experience & Skills:
- 6-7+ years of hands-on UX/UI design experience, with a strong portfolio of shipped enterprise or B2B products
- Demonstrated experience leading design delivery for complex, data-heavy digital platforms
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma - components, auto-layout, variants, design tokens, prototyping, and library management
- Strong UI craft - typography, layout, visual hierarchy, interaction patterns, and motion
- Proven ability to design intuitive screens for complex workflows onboarding flows, form-heavy experiences, and dashboards with dense data
- Experience working within and contributing to design systems at scale
- Solid understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles across web and tablet form factors
- Strong working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), usability heuristics, and inclusive design practices
- Experience collaborating with developers and managing design handoff, QA, and post-release iteration
- Ability to lead and mentor a small design pod while remaining hands-on in execution
