Summary

Focus Capital is looking for hands-on lead engineer to develop new agentic AI powered tools for our startup technology partner. With over $60M in backing from some of the top VCs in the country, our partner has become the frontrunner in an emerging digitally-led hospitality, travel and leisure industry.

In this role, you will serve as both one of the main developer and also the leader to a team of engineers to develop a new agentic AI tools and applications used by our clients and customers. You will own projects and also interface with the business, product managers and designers to prioritize user experience.

The firm is technology agnostic but has a preference to those who are strong in Python/Django (or 'full stack' technologies like Node, Next, React or Typescript), and able to work in a cloud-heavy, data intensive environment, with a zeal for artificial intelligence and bleeding edge technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of experience industrial experience as a software engineer
Expertise in Python and Django
Prior experience working with JavaScript, React, Node, NextJS, etc.
Technical leadership experience.
A bachelors or higher in computer science or a related field
Some experience with Gen AI technologies is ideal.
Desire to work with machine learning tools
Prior professional experience with cloud environments (i.e. AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
Must have excellent communication skills.
Ability to work onsite in NYC.
