Database Administration Manager (Accenture LLP; Nashville, TN): Accenture LLP has multiple openings for the position of Database Administration Manager in Nashville, TN, and the job duties are as follows:
- Design, implement, and maintain existing and new databases and perform backup/recovery, configuration management, and related operations activities for Accenture or clients.
- Administer, develop, and test databases, install database management systems (DBMS) and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.
- Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.
- Provide outage resolution support and perform analysis to resolve recurring database issues.
- Provide client-facing support and training, database tuning, and performance support.
- Act independently to determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
- Supervise a team of database practitioners to gather and interpret user/system requirements into design specifications.
- Conduct project and issue management (status reporting, issue reporting, ETC/budget reporting) for assigned scope of work, and make decisions that impact the team through regular consultation with senior management.
- Adhere to strategic direction set by senior management.
- Interact with client or internal senior management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of experience in the IT consulting industry. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, employer will accept 2 additional years of experience in the IT consulting industry.
Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Utilizing enterprise database platforms and scripting languages, including Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, and PowerShell;
- Building data models in Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle for Enterprise EMR (Electronic Medical Record) Data Warehouse;
- Utilizing database administration tools, including Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), MySQL Workbench, and Teradata Viewpoint, to perform data migration, backup and restore operations, and implement disaster recovery (DR) solutions;
- Monitoring and maintaining database health using Teradata Viewpoint, Foglight and Oracle Enterprise Manager;
- Supporting major and minor database upgrade activities across production environments;
- Performing database capacity planning, scaling, and forecasting to ensure infrastructure stability; and
- Conducting SQL and database performance tuning to optimize query execution and system throughput.
Must have willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately 80% of the time to meet client needs.
