Client: Leading Energy & Utilities Organization

Location: Newark, DE (Hybrid)

Duration: 18-Month Contract

 

Our client, a leading Energy & Utilities organization, is seeking an SAP EAM Technical Lead for an 18-month contract engagement to support the technical architecture, development, and implementation of SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions. This role plays a critical part in optimizing asset lifecycle management and ensuring seamless system integration within a complex utility environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of SAP EAM solutions aligned with business objectives and technical feasibility.
  • Develop and execute technical roadmaps and solution architectures for EAM initiatives in collaboration with functional stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior technical team members.
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert for SAP EAM production support, enhancements, and system upgrades.
  • Lead technical configuration and integration of Linear Asset Management (LAM) to support management of linear assets such as power lines and pipelines.
  • Design and implement integrations between SAP EAM and GIS systems to align spatial data with asset master data.
  • Ensure seamless integration of SAP EAM with SAP IS-U, SCM, MM, and FI/CO modules.
  • Oversee and support SAP EAM process areas including:
  • Manage Assets: Asset lifecycle management, traceability, and master data governance
  • Manage Work: Work order lifecycle, scheduling, dispatching, and mobile execution
  • Manage Resources: Internal labor and external contractor coordination
  • Manage Maintenance: Maintenance planning, inspections, and testing
  • Manage Spatial Data: Spatial data synchronization and alignment
  • Support technical requirements for regulatory and compliance reporting for utility authorities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure EAM solutions are scalable, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of hands-on SAP EAM/PM/CS experience, including at least two full lifecycle implementations.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA EAM configuration and customization.
  • Experience with SAP EPPM (PS/PPM) for project scheduling, resource management, and financial tracking.
  • Proven integration experience across EAM, EPPM, FI/CO, IS-U, and GIS platforms.
  • Certifications: SAP EAM certification preferred; PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications are a plus.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of asset lifecycles from construction and commissioning through operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must reside in one of the following states: DE, MD, PA, NC, NJ, VA, TX, FL, IL, or OH.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

 

Additional Information

  • Employment Type: 18-Month Contract
  • Hybrid Schedule: Approximately two weeks per month onsite in Newark, DE
  • (Travel and lodging covered for non-local consultants)
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (W2 or C2C, depending on engagement structure)
