A bit about us:A leading plastics manufacturer in the Bogart, GA area is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations through process improvement, tooling optimization, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing environments, preferably plastic extrusion, and be passionate about driving operational efficiency, quality improvement, and cost reduction.

Job DetailsKey Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality
- Provide technical support to production teams on troubleshooting process or equipment issues
- Design and modify extrusion tooling and fixtures for new and existing products
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for process-related defects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma)
- Collaborate with quality and maintenance teams to ensure process reliability and product conformance
- Assist with onboarding of new equipment and technology, including SOP development and training
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Assist with new product launches, process validation, and sample runs
- Maintain accurate documentation of processes, tooling, and production parameters
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics or extrusion preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience with tooling, fixtures, and mechanical systems
- Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Experience with extrusion, plastic forming, or related continuous manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally on the production floor
