Summary

Position Overview

The Printing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safety, quality, productivity, and development of employees within the printing press and sheeting departments on 1st shift. This role ensures efficient operations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the printing press and sheeting departments
  • Manage departmental performance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production
  • Evaluate employee performance, identify skill gaps, and implement training plans
  • Provide ongoing coaching, development, and performance feedback to team members
  • Analyze operational and performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Enforce workplace safety policies and lead daily safety discussions
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and provide direction to meet customer specifications
  • Lead monthly departmental meetings focused on safety, quality, productivity, and process improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production and process issues

Qualifications

  • 3?5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of printing processes (offset printing experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of graphics software and Computer-to-Plate (CTP) systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and influence team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently address production challenges
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with production systems
  • Bachelor?s degree preferred but not required
  • Folding carton industry experience is a plus
