Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer develops, supports, and improves manufacturing processes used to produce precision-machined components and assemblies. This role combines manufacturing engineering, CAD design, process development, tooling design, and production support responsibilities while ensuring products meet customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Development
- Develop and maintain routings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Evaluate manufacturing methods, tooling, inspection requirements, and resource utilization.
- Support new product introductions, prototypes, and process-improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, tooling designs, fixtures, and workholding solutions.
- Apply GD&T, dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications to engineering documentation.
- Develop BOMs, revision-controlled drawings, and supporting manufacturing records.
- Provide technical support to Production, Planning, Quality, and Programming teams.
- Analyze production issues and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Support first-article inspections, prototype builds, and production launches.
- Design or specify tooling, fixtures, gauges, and workholding systems.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and process standardization activities.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Participate in manufacturability reviews and project planning activities.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent technical training and experience may be considered.
- Minimum three years of experience in manufacturing engineering, mechanical design, CNC machining, process engineering, or related manufacturing roles.
