Role Overview
The QA Lead is responsible for driving the overall quality strategy across products and ensuring
high-quality releases. This role involves leading the QA team, defining test processes, coordinating with
cross-functional teams, and ensuring both functional and non-functional requirements are tested
thoroughly. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in both manual testing practices and quality
governance, with an understanding of automation practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Strategy & Planning
Define test strategy, scope, approach, estimates, and reporting.
Perform requirement analysis and ensure testability during grooming.
2. Test Execution & Quality Assurance
Lead design of test scenarios, test cases, and traceability.
Oversee functional, regression, system, UAT, and exploratory testing.
Ensure adherence to entry and exit criteria.
3. Defect & Risk Management
Drive defect triage, prioritization, and RCA.
Monitor defect trends and minimize leakage.
Identify risks early and implement mitigation plans.
4. Team Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor and manage QA engineers; support capacity planning.
Collaborate with Product, Development, DevOps, and Release teams to ensure quality delivery.
5. Process & Continuous Improvement
Establish QA standards and best practices.
Optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and implement tools/frameworks.
6. Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
Provide clear QA metrics (coverage, defects, progress, risks).
Deliver go/no-go recommendations and communicate quality insights to leadership.
Required Skills Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and agile methodologies.
Expertise in functional testing, regression testing, and integration testing.
Familiarity with test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, etc.).
Basic understanding of automation tools/frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, API testing) is a plus.
Good knowledge of API testing (Postman, Swagger, etc.).
Experience working with CI/CD environments is an advantage.
