A leading Tier 1 aerospace and defense technology manufacturer is seeking a high-caliber Site Lean Manufacturing Manager to champion operational excellence at our 200-employee production facility. Reporting directly to the Division Lean Manager, this strategic individual contributor role is responsible for architecting and deploying a robust Lean Future State Strategy across the site. This is a high-visibility, direct-hire, permanent placement position located in Hauppauge, NY, offering a premier opportunity to influence site leadership without direct administrative reports. responsibilities:

Serve as the principal change agent and custodian of the facility's continuous improvement roadmap, guiding all site lean initiatives and enterprise system deployments.


Partner extensively with the Site Manager and executive stakeholders to evaluate operational resource alignment and drive structural lean transformations.


Standardize and audit site Value Stream and Team Improvement Boards to foster an active Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) problem-solving culture.


Design and deliver continuous education programs across the plant floor to embed a deeply rooted learning culture and baseline lean capability.


Provide high-level technical and operational recommendations to local leadership to optimize production throughput, material control, quality metrics, and on-time delivery goals.


Document local continuous improvement milestones, financial benefits, and assessment metrics for executive reporting through corporate scorecards.


Capture and cross-pollinate "best practice" methodologies with division lean steering committees to elevate multi-site manufacturing efficiency.




qualifications:

Must-Haves


5+ years of progressive Lean Manufacturing experience within a sophisticated industrial or highly regulated production environment.


2+ years of direct, site-wide Lean leadership experience (overseeing operational lean processes, framework deployment, and site culture transformation).


Mastery of core Lean and continuous improvement principles, including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Just-In-Time (JIT), Single Piece Flow, 5S, Visual Management, and Kaizen orchestration.


U.S. Citizenship is strictly required due to federal aerospace and defense program compliance.


Strong business acumen with an understanding of financial throughput measurements in a lean manufacturing environment.


Exceptional active listening, inquiry-based communication, and executive presence required to advise plant leadership.


Career history reflecting technical ownership, accountability, and stability (no patterns of hyper-frequent job hopping).


Four-year Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.


Nice-to-Haves


Professional background operating within top-tier aerospace, defense, or aviation manufacturing organizations (e.g., highly integrated tier-1 aerospace component suppliers).


Practical understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, and aerospace quality standards (QS9000/AS9100).
