Role: Oracle DBA (AWS RDS)

Compensation: $47.73/hr (W2)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Oracle DBA to serve as the primary AWS RDS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a large-scale migration initiative.
This role involves partnering with application teams to design, validate, and execute migrations from on-premises Oracle environments
to Oracle RDS, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
* Migration Strategy: Assess the impact of migrating on-premises Oracle workloads to RDS; advise on required application changes, configuration updates, and minor redesigns.
* Architectural Guidance: Design Oracle RDS architectures following best practices for high availability, backup strategies, patching, and upgrades.
* Expert Advisory: Provide guidance on RDS-specific constraints, platform limitations versus self-managed Oracle, and automation differences.
* Testing & Validation: Partner with application teams to validate connectivity, performance, and reliability post-migration; assist with troubleshooting during cutover phases.
* Compliance & Security: Ensure all RDS configurations align with enterprise security standards and product engineering benchmarks.
* Collaboration: Act as the bridge between application teams and database engineering to ensure a seamless transition to the AWS ecosystem.
Required Technical Skillset
* 4–8 Years of experience in Senior Oracle Database Administration.
* Cloud Mastery: Deep, hands-on expertise with Oracle on AWS RDS (General AWS experience is insufficient).
* Migration Experience: Proven track record of supporting application teams through complex database migrations.
* Architectural Depth: Strong understanding of database migration risks, mitigations, and application dependency mapping.
* Functional Knowledge: Expert knowledge of Oracle RDS limitations vs. EC2 or on-premises installations.
