Technician - Battery Testing & Validation
Location: Morrisville, NC
Pay: $40 - $42 an hr
Schedule: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Type: Contract

We are seeking a Technician II to support battery testing, product validation, and verification activities for advanced battery systems and charging technologies. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with experience in electronics, manufacturing, engineering testing, or product validation who enjoys troubleshooting, data analysis, and working closely with engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical and mechanical testing of battery cells, battery packs, and charging equipment.
  • Execute validation and verification testing to ensure products meet performance, quality, and reliability requirements.
  • Build, assemble, and maintain test fixtures, harnesses, and laboratory test setups.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test results, preparing detailed reports and communicating findings to engineering teams.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment, test systems, and product failures, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support prototype testing activities and assist with development of test procedures and documentation.
  • Conduct inspections, failure analysis, and performance evaluations to identify product or process issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand test requirements and recommend improvements to product designs and testing processes.
  • Maintain accurate records, test documentation, and compliance-related reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and 5S activities within the testing environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electronics, technical diploma, military technical training, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electronics, manufacturing, engineering, product testing, or related technical environments.
  • Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a laboratory or testing environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with lithium-ion battery testing, handling, and validation.
  • Experience building and troubleshooting wire harnesses.
  • Knowledge of product verification and validation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience supporting engineering development, product testing, or reliability programs.
