PeopleSoft HCM/Payroll Techno-Functional Consultant (HealthCare)

Need minimum 5 to 15 years.
Role Summary
The PeopleSoft HCM/Payroll Techno-Functional Consultant provides techno-functional expertise across PeopleSoft HCM and Payroll modules. Working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams, the consultant configures, customizes, troubleshoots, enhances, and supports enterprise HR and Payroll solutions, combining functional process understanding with hands-on PeopleTools development.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and perform fit-gap analysis.
- Configure and support Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time & Labor, Absence Management, Compensation, Workforce Administration, and Employee/Manager Self-Service.
- Prepare functional specifications, configuration workbooks, and test scenarios (SIT/UAT).
- Support payroll processing cycles, statutory/regulatory compliance, and year-end activities.
Technical Responsibilities
- Develop and customize using PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, File Layouts, and Application Packages.
- Build and support inbound/outbound interfaces using Integration Broker and Excel-to-CI.
- Develop and maintain reports using BI Publisher, PS Query, SQR, and nVision.
- Configure and troubleshoot AWE (Approval Workflow Engine) workflows and approvals.
Production Support & Delivery
- Resolve incidents and service requests within SLA and perform root cause analysis.
- Support patching, retrofits, PUM updates, and upgrade retro-testing.
- Participate in migrations, deployments, and release activities.
- Maintain technical documentation, run-books, and knowledge-base articles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of PeopleSoft HCM/Payroll experience with hands-on technical and functional exposure.
- Experience across multiple HCM implementations, upgrades, or support engagements.

Functional / Domain Skills
- Core HR, Workforce Administration, Position Management, and Employee / Manager Self-Service.
- Payroll (North American / Global as applicable): pay calendars, earnings, deductions, taxes, and year-end processing.
- Benefits (Base Benefits and Benefits Administration), Time & Labor, Absence Management, and Compensation.
- Payroll processing cycles, reconciliation, and statutory / regulatory compliance.
Technical Development Skills
- PeopleTools I & II, Application Designer, PeopleCode, and Application Engine.
- Component Interface, File Layout, Application Packages, and Excel-to-CI.
- AWE (Approval Workflow Engine) workflow design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Reporting & Analytics
- BI Publisher, PS Query, SQR, and nVision report development.
- Pivot Grids and Fluid-based reporting where applicable.
Integration Skills
- Integration Broker: service operations, messaging, routing, and monitoring.
- Inbound / outbound interface development and Excel-to-CI data loads.
- Third-party payroll, benefits, and tax integrations.
Database & Security
- PL-SQL: stored procedures, query optimization, and indexing.
- PeopleSoft security: page-level, data-level, query, process, and row-level security.
Support & Delivery Skills
- ITSM / ITIL incident, change, and problem management.
- Retrofits, PUM updates, and upgrade retro-testing.
- Requirement gathering, functional specifications, and SIT / UAT test scenario preparation.
Preferred / Good-to-Have
- Fluid pages, tiles, pagelets, WorkCenters, Dashboards, and Pivot reporting.
- ELK (Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana), Global Payroll, and Benefits / ACA compliance.
