Main Sail LLC is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Lead (ABAP / PI) to remediate, stabilize, and complete SAP custom developments and integrations supporting shop floor execution for a large, regulated commercial manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for assessing inherited custom objects, correcting defects and gaps from a previously paused implementation, and ensuring that SAP integrations particularly between SAP and AutoTime, are technically sound, testable, and production-ready. The Technical Lead will serve as the senior authority for SAP custom code and integrations, working closely with functional leads, integration partners, and project leadership.
Responsibilities
- Inventory, assess, and remediate inherited SAP custom objects, including WRICEF developments
- Lead ABAP remediation efforts for custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, and conversions
- Support and stabilize SAP PI integrations between SAP and AutoTime and other external systems
- Partner with SAP Functional Leads to ensure technical solutions align with validated business requirements
- Support environment readiness activities, including transports, system coordination, and release management
- Provide technical support during System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defect triage and resolution
- Identify technical risks, design gaps, and performance issues, driving timely remediation
- Ensure technical documentation, configuration records, and handoff artifacts are complete and accurate
- Support knowledge transfer and production readiness activities in advance of go-live
Required Experience
- 10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience
- Hands-on experience supporting SAP PI integrations with external systems
- Proven experience remediating legacy or inherited custom code from paused or distressed SAP implementations
- Experience supporting manufacturing or shop floor SAP environments
- Strong collaboration skills with functional, testing, and project management teams
- Experience supporting SIT and UAT in complex SAP landscapes
Preferred Additional Experience (Nice to Have - Not Mandatory)
- SAP ECC shop floor manufacturing implementations
- Experience supporting timekeeping or labor integrations with SAP
- Familiarity with regulated or audit-sensitive manufacturing environments
- Experience preparing technical solutions for production cutover and stabilization
