Main Sail LLC is seeking an experienced SAP Manufacturing Functional Lead to support a regulated, shop floor manufacturing environment operating on SAP ECC. This role is responsible for validating and completing inherited SAP PP/MM/QM designs, remediating configuration gaps, and ensuring that manufacturing processes and approval workflows operate in a controlled, auditable, and production-ready manner. The consultant will serve as a senior functional authority across manufacturing execution, quality controls, and SAP approval workflows, working closely with business stakeholders, technical leads, and integration partners.
Responsibilities
- Validate and remediate inherited or partially completed SAP PP/MM/QM functional designs
- Complete and refine SAP configuration supporting:
- Production orders
- Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Routings and work centers
- Quality inspections, in-process inspections, and defect handling
- Validate and remediate SAP approval workflows supporting manufacturing and procurement controls (e.g., purchase requisition release)
- Ensure functional alignment between SAP manufacturing processes and AutoTime integration
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including functional defect triage and resolution
- Ensure manufacturing and workflow processes meet audit, control, and traceability requirements in a regulated environment
- Coordinate closely with SAP Functional Leads, Technical/ABAP resources, and project leadership
- Author and maintain functional specifications, workflow documentation, and test evidence artifacts
- Serve as a senior functional liaison to business stakeholders, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and accurately implemented
Required Experience
- 10+ years of SAP PP/MM functional experience; QM experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience supporting shop floor manufacturing implementations in SAP ECC
- Experience validating, correcting, and completing inherited or partially implemented SAP solutions
- SAP approval workflow experience (e.g., PR release strategies, manufacturing controls)
- Experience in regulated or audit-sensitive manufacturing environments
- Strong functional testing, SIT/UAT support, and defect management experience
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with business users and technical teams
Preferred Additional Experience (Nice to Have - Not Mandatory)
- Nuclear, defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting timekeeping or labor integrations with SAP manufacturing
- Familiarity with manufacturing audit controls and compliance documentation
