We are seeking a Senior .NET Developer to support a legacy application modernization initiative. This role will focus on migrating Classic ASP (ASP 3.0) applications to modern .NET and .NET Core frameworks, refactoring code for improved performance and maintainability, and supporting enterprise-level system enhancements.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of .NET experience, strong SQL Server expertise, and hands-on experience working with legacy web applications. This is a fully remote opportunity, supporting a mission critical public sector system.

responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex modules for the Educator Certification Online System (ECOS) and its related subsystems
- Rewrite and migrate legacy Classic ASP (ASP 3.0) pages, business logic, and data interactions to modern .NET and .NET Core frameworks
- Refactor existing code to improve maintainability, scalability, and performance during migration
- Optimize SQL Server database interactions and application performance
- Analyze technical requirements and develop effective technical solutions
- Design and write high-quality code for enterprise-level customer systems
- Collaborate with the Development Manager and technical stakeholders on system enhancements
- Create clear, comprehensive documentation for converted screens and migration changes
- Support ongoing application maintenance and modernization efforts
- Follow established development standards, version control practices, and approved tool usage (e.g., Bitbucket)

Qualifications
10+ years of experience with Microsoft .NET and .NET Core
10+ years of experience with SQL Server (2017-2022)
8+ years of experience with ASP.NET MVC
5+ years of experience with Classic ASP (ASP 3.0)
Experience migrating and modernizing legacy web applications
Strong experience designing and developing enterprise-level systems
Proficiency with version control tools such as Bitbucket
