As a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings-which is backed by Berkshire Hathaway-you'll be doing things that matter, leading at every level, and winning a better way. We're committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone's empowered to be their best.

For over 90 years, Hohmann & Barnard, Inc., has pioneered innovative solutions for the masonry industry. As a global leader in manufacturing construction materials for the building envelope, we offer anchors and reinforcement, moisture protection, thermal performance, wall estimating software, and air barrier systems for commercial and residential masonry markets.

The Manager, Architectural Services leads a team of technical specialists who partner with architects, engineers, and specifiers to secure Hohmann & Barnard products in project designs and specifications. This role owns the strategy, standards, and day-to-day execution of architectural support, including technical detailing, specification consulting, and submittal package development for H&B's full product line.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead, develop, and manage an Architectural Services team that provides project-specific technical support to design professionals (architects, structural engineers, faade consultants, and spec writers).
  • Establish and maintain standard details, guide specifications, and drawing templates for H&B products and systems (e.g., masonry reinforcement, anchors, brick veneer supports, thermal break systems, and accessory components).
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to review project drawings and specifications and recommend appropriate H&B solutions, alternates, and value-engineered options.
  • Oversee preparation of project submittal packages, including technical data sheets, CAD/Revit details, performance documentation, and code compliance narratives to support product approval.
  • Develop and implement processes for handling architect/engineer technical inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent responses from the Architectural Services team.
  • Partner with Sales and Regional Technical Representatives to support specification efforts on key target accounts and strategic projects, including pre-design and schematic phases where product decisions are influenced.
  • Monitor design trends in building envelope, masonry veneer, and faade systems, and translate these into updates to H&B details, specifications, and technical literature.
  • Ensure team guidance aligns with current building codes and standards relevant to H&B products (e.g., ASTM for masonry reinforcement and anchors, energy code requirements for thermal breaks, and structural design considerations).
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering Services to provide design-professional feedback on new products, system enhancements, and testing needs.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, and continuing-education content for architects, engineers, and industry associations.
  • Maintain metrics and reporting for specification wins, project support volume, inquiry response times, and team workload; use data to drive continuous improvement in service levels.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training for Architectural Services team members, including CAD/BIM standards, specification practices, and H&B product knowledge.
  • Represent Architectural Services in cross-functional initiatives such as digital catalog/BIM content updates, website technical content, and CRM integration of specification activity
  • Serve as the primary authority and single source of truth for training other groups within the organization on the technical aspects of Hohmann & Barnard products and systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update technical training curricula, presentations, reference materials, and digital resources that explain product performance, applications, and system integration.
  • Deliver structured training programs (e.g., onboarding, re sessions, advanced modules) to sales team members and regional technical representatives, ensuring consistent understanding of H&B offerings across markets.
