The Role

RedMane has a full-time opportunity for several experienced Java Developer/Analysts as we continue to grow our Chicago based practice. These positions will provide system analysis, development, and production support as part of a project team. You will design functional and technical approaches to create and customize functionality. You will also be responsible for the execution of testing, training, support of user testing and customer support post implementation.

Skills & Role Requirements

At least 5 years of Java based Web Service development experience.
Understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Development concepts and familiarity with various design patterns and the SDLC.
Demonstrate a clear pride of ownership, propose new ideas with a relentless focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Prepare technical specifications from which programs will be written.
Analyze and revise existing system logic and documentation, as necessary.
Provide ongoing support, monitoring and maintenance of deployed applications and integrations, working closely with internal teams and vendors as needed.
Hands-on experience with SQL server, DB2 knowledge a plus
Work both independently and as a strong team player to deliver quality technology solutions.

We have developed a proven, tested methodology that has been successfully used and refined on many projects. We have found from experience that most consulting companies either have no methodology at all or have a methodology that is so pervasive and cumbersome that the methodology drives the project, rather than the methodology being used to successfully implement the project.

Companies that do not have a defined methodology tend to create systems whose progress is impossible to monitor and which are very hard to maintain since they are basically thrown together as quickly as possible.
